Self Love Project 2019

If I can be transparent with you for a minute, I will tell you that I struggle with self love. I don’t hate myself by any means but I know for a fact that I am my toughest critic. I don’t always feel as attractive as I should or comfortable in my own skin. These past three years post diagnosis have placed a huge strain on me both mentally and physically making self love even more of a challenge.

As I’ve grown to accept my diagnosis and learned to live with it instead of fighting against it, I think I am happier. Even though I practice gratitude for how far I’ve come, I have days when I still revert back to hating my body for doing this to itself.

One of my intentions this year is to embark on a self love journey. I don’t think there’s a better time than February since it’s viewed as a month of love. I’m choosing to love myself!! I actually got this idea from one of my favorite bloggers @askproy. It inspired me to do my own this year. For the next 28 days I will document and share my journey with you guys by writing affirmations, taking selfies and pampering myself with an act of self love.

Want in on the fun?

So if you feel in need of a little extra self-loving I encourage you all to join me.  Here’s how. Starting Feb 1 through Feb 28 everyday I will:

  1. Take a selfie
  2. Create daily affirmations (and journal to expand upon my affirmation). In my journaling I’m focusing on using positive language and avoiding negative thoughts, words or comments.
  3. Find a way to pamper myself every, single day.  Each day may be a little different. Some days will be big acts some days will be small. Just something in the name of self love.
  4. I will compliment someone else EVERY SINGLE DAY.  Spread the love.

Who’s with me?? If you are, use the hashtag #iwwbselfloveproject. I’d love to see all the self-lovery going around.

It has since become a place to inspire and create a sense of community among women with autoimmune diseases. Morgan loves trying new things and sharing with other spoonies how to live an ill life on their terms.

When she’s not blogging she is probably reading a book, drinking a Coke Slurpee or listening to music.
